Global Television...

As I kickoff this newsletter, I can’t help but trust that the right people will somehow read it, and refer it to others. Word of mouth has to be the primary instrument of growth.

I am struck by the possibilities, the opportunity, the virtually unlimited potential of the internet. Here is this global resource, literally at my fingertips, that can impact anyone who connects with this vehicle of ideas.

People are often surprised at the notion that they can influence dozens, if not hundreds or more, daily. But, it’s true! Debbie Ford has shared with many her vision of helping a million individuals transform their life every day. Possible? Absolutely. And, to me, the internet is the key ingredient.

Yes, books can be read, movies can be watched, tapes and CDs can be heard by many around the world on any given day. But, the internet is like a global television show.

Somewhere, someone knows how many are online at any given moment, discovering new websites and/or returning to familiar ones. I have to believe that referenced sites (and links) get the large majority of the traffic. Who just types in a site purely at random to find out what it is?

So, peterschroeder.com is up and running, and this newsletter will be emailed to a growing number of interested parties. Please forward it to anyone you know who may benefit, or better yet, be challenged by what is included in these various columns.

I am deeply determined to use these pages to inspire and motivate, affirm and yes, challenge.

• Catch yourself when you engage in any self-talk that is demeaning, critical, or juvenile. You know what I mean. We all do it almost every day. But, just for today, catch yourself and replace those words with questions of curiosity. When you do or say something you judge as “a mistake,” instead of criticizing, ask yourself a question that will lead you to learning something from the experience. Primarily, you want to find out how to avoid “the mistake” in the future. Try it, just for today.
